LA's Never Ending Heat Waves

An observation. LA has been locked in an insane sauna for over a week now. Every day, as I've done for many summers during heat waves, I check the forecast to see when the temperature is due to drop. And every time the same thing happens--the day before the temperature is supposed to drop and give us some hint of normal life, the forecast is revised upwards another five degrees and the heat wave extended yet another day of soul-withering sunshine and oven-lung air temps. The end result is is the heat wave never ends until one night five days past the time you feel life on earth isn't worth living anymore you open the door to let out the cat and amazingly it's cool out there.
