"Life After People" Dumber Than Most

The TV series "Life After People" ought to have been called "Life After Brains." They go on for--I don't know--hour after hour it seems talking about what's going to happen when there's nobody around to run the nuclear power plants. How the cooling ponds for the control rods will evaporate and the plants will explode and radiation will escape into the atmosphere and onto the surrounding countryside.

Well boo-hoo hoo. Forgive me if I'm less than properly paralyzed. If all the people are gone, who is it that's going to be around to suffer anyway? Why are the producers of this series worrying themselves sick about squirrels and rats and mosquitos?
